On May 17 CLA will hold its second annual Science Forum, a unique invite-only event that will be held at the Metro Center Marriott in Washington, D.C. Last year’s forum, “Judging the Quality of Scientific Work,” was a success and the final paper resulting from the event has been submitted for publication in a scientific journal.
 

This year's topic will be: "Weight of evidence (WoE) - Approaches for Pesticide Evaluations . "  The Forum will include presentations by selected invited experts , followed by an open public discussion by an expert advisory group.   
 

The panel will discuss:

  • The factors necessary for validated WoE approaches including what is 'evidence' and what is 'weight. '
  • Current  applications for WoE  approaches in chemical risk assessment, as well as agency approaches that are being proposed.
  • Debate  and discussion of the  practical application, in a step-wise manner,  of WoE to pesticide risk assessment.
